Yi Chun Chung's design philosophy manifests in the creation of a telescopic dining table, a centerpiece that adapts to intimate meals or large family gatherings. This flexibility is complemented by moon-shaped pendant lights, which evoke a sense of warmth and security reminiscent of a campfire's glow. The design's inspiration is deeply rooted in the everyday, transforming mundane home devices into elements of comfort and connection.
Distinctive features set "Confluence of Initial Intentions" apart from conventional residential spaces. A versatile sliding door doubles as a study partition and a backdrop to a sofa, ingeniously integrating a storage lift bed within a bookcase. This multifunctional approach extends to the hallway, where blue-gold mottled paint serves as a visual connector between the public and private realms, adding a playful touch to the transition.
The design's realization leverages advanced technology, such as light strips along a curved ceiling to soften the space with an illusion of flowing light. The incorporation of a hidden retractable dining table and a rotating shoe rack in the entrance maximizes space utility, reflecting Chung's commitment to marrying form with function.
Spanning 130 square meters, the house features engineered hardwood flooring, Italian paint, and titanium-plated iron parts, exuding a modern yet timeless charm. The design's interaction with its inhabitants is thoughtful and intuitive, with a wood grain color scheme and stone-patterned floor tiles that seamlessly merge the foyer with the dining area. An L-shaped kitchen layout and retractable aluminum-framed doors exemplify the design's seamless functionality.
Completed in 2023, the project is a testament to Chung's meticulous research and design prowess. The master bedroom, a sanctuary of intellect, showcases a blend of art coating and stone that extends to a makeup table, offering a visual feast. The soft light blue storage cabinets ensure the space feels open and functional.
Overcoming challenges, the main bathroom exudes a hotel-like ambiance, featuring a luxurious stone-patterned design and a double sink that invites relaxation. The living room's TV wall, adorned with golden tiles and color-shifting paint, harmonizes with the natural light filtering through the blinds, while curved ceiling lines soften the space's boundaries.
